Denouement
The season is winding down, but the competition is not. ooo-eee. god, I love kickball. The games got off to a slow start due to lack of bases (i think it had something to do with some sort of car trouble). But the teams braved the cold and waited patiently (beer and chocolate mint frosty shots helped) and all games ended before the sun went down.

I caught some of each of the first games- both fun to watch. Team Awesome really was awesome this week. not only did they win, but they won in full on halloween costumes. My personal favorite was micheal phelps manning 1st base and defending against a bunt-h
appy team. The other game was also fun to watch, well cuz the Sofa Kings are always fun to watch. (ok, so maybe I'm biased cuz I work with them- but you gotta hand ti to a team who celebrates getting 2 runs even if they didnt quite win the game).

When it was our time to play, my team was happy to have our newly married and marathoned couple back on the field. BOG gave us a run for our money, especially with their third base line drives. But we pulled through with some solid plays and fancy footwork when running bases. Well done team.

And I'm hapy to say there was a great turn out at Christopher Martin's afterwards. If you havent been yet you should really consider going. Beer, football, comraderie and 20% off- cant ask for more! And for those of you
who worry what will come of your sundays when kickball ends, never fear! We're gonna try to form a sunday group that hangs between seasons- activities suggested so far: sledding, skiing, snowball fights.... see what magic happens at christopehr martin's?

Word up from the Captains (The Captains Corner)
Balls Deep
We've definitely gotten a lot better as the season has progressed, but so has everyone else. We're looking forward to the playoffs to silence some the trash talk coming from the orange crossing guards also known as the uniballs.

Sofa Kings
Since next week is our bye week, we've pretty much put away our shirts until the spring. It was a rockin' first season for Yale's Sofa King Athletic, and even though we didn't win any games, we had a blast. We finally learned all the rules (most of them) and it seems that most of the other players have figured out our team name. I am proud of our eclectic group of kickballers and am quite convinced that we are the team with the most potential for next season! We are Sofa King Athletic!

Overheard... (The Gossip Corner)
"Next year we'll be undefeated" -Sofa Kings (the self-titled team with the most potential)

"I read the blog every day!"

"Umm, we think the blog is a little biased toward the Uniballs" - some disgruntled player

"Thats the way you do it when you have one ball" -Uniballs

"If that ball were a baby, the mom would only be partially mad" -one Uniball player to another who almost caught a fly ball.

"Next week its on. Green vs Green!"
